Starting Over, Inc. serves Broward County's homeless and teaches them useful and marketable skills, while at the same time providing food, clothing and shelter during their rehabilitative training period.

The founder and President, Susan (Sno) Bain, draws no salary or remuneration from the organization. She gives of herself, her life and her personal money to help our underprivileged and otherwise unemployable people.

The creative workplace at Starting Over provides a rewarding environment for homeless people who find the ordinary workplace difficult and disagreeable. It provides people with an opportunity to develop themselves and do rewarding and important work in our community.

Our Mission
Starting Over, Inc. was established as a non-profit, charitable, tax exempt organization committed to providing the homeless population with food, shelter, clothing and job training and placement within the Theme Event, Scenic Design Construction, related Cultural Arts Fields and the commercial construction industry.

Our Training Program
The First Three Months; Provide transportation, meals, clothing, to improve personal appearance, self image and hygiene, and a place to stay. For a period of one year, they will be taught all aspects of the theme party industry: painting, artistic drawing, reading blue prints, dimensional props, ceramics, costumes, scenery, lighting, welding, flower arrangement, plumbing, electrical, sculpturing, carving, decorating ballrooms, trade shows, movies, commercial sets and home construction. After they have been in our extensive program for one year, we will find positions for them with other companies.

Thus far, Starting Over, Inc. has graduated more than 400 formerly homeless persons to companies where they now ply their newly learned trades and, thanks to Sno White, they have a life again. Sno White's training program addresses two needs in our community; productive lives for homeless people and a need for trained workers to assist designers in the hotel, entertainment and construction.
